Collection of Hertz hire car at the airport Balmaceda of Coyhaique. Drive along the Carretera Austral towards the south, passing the mountain massif Cerro Castillo and the volcanic ash forests of the Hudson volcano at the west bank of Lago General Carrera. Visit the marble caves near Puerto Tranquilo (boat trip). Onward travel to the hotel (B&B). |
| Day 2 |
Quick detour to Río Baker. Onward travel along the south bank of Lago Carrera, Chile's largest lake, to Chile Chico. Overnight stay in the hotel (B&B). |
| Day 3 |
Crossing by car-ferry to Puerto Ibáñez at the north bank of the lake, drive back to Coyhaique. |
