| Day 1 |
Arrival
in Punta Arenas, reception by Antarctica XXI staff,
transfer to the hotel. During the course of the
afternoon introduction to “"How to
behave in the Antarctic" and on “"How
to embark and disembark". Welcome dinner
at the José Nogueira Hotel, a hundred-year-old
French style mansion. |
| Day 2 |
The Antarctic
adventure begins! Three-hour flight to the King
George Island (South Shetland Islands). Exploring
the surroundings of the Chilean station Presidente
Eduardo Frei and of the Russian station Bellinghausen.
Embarking in the M/V Grigori Mikhejew from the
banks of the Fildes Bay in zodiac boats. |
| Day 3 to 6 |
Cruise from the
South Shetland Islands to the Antarctic Peninsula,
accompanied by sea birds, penguins, seals and
whales. The journey south includes visits to some
of the most impressive areas of the White Continent,
such as Hannah Point, Port Lockroy, Petermann
Island, Paradise Bay, Cuverville Island and Deception
Island. Shore leaves in zodiacs, lectures/presentations
and a pleasant stay aboard. |
| Day 7 |
Return
to the King George Island, disembarkation at Fildes
Bay. Return flight from the airfield at Teniente
Marsh to Punta Arenas. End of programme, transfer
into town optional.
